Donald Bradley Creator of One of the First
Astronomical Stock Market Barometers
Author Introduction
Donald Bradley is a famous figure in the history of Financial Astrology. He initially worked as an astronomer but his work led in to the study of celestial influences on the stock market.
He developed a famous market indicator called The Siderograph. While he did consider it to be his most consistent indicator, many people continue to track financial market movements using his well-known tool.
Biography
Donald A. Bradley was born near Bruning, Nebraska on May 16, 1925. He was a very private man who was personally shy and aloof. As a lad of thirteen, Bradley began his study of astronomy that later combined with that of astrology. He was a first class astronomer, mineralogist, researcher and astrologer.
During the last 1950’s and early 1960’s he authored several papers which appeared in scientific journals such as Science and Nature. These were mostly devoted to the relationship between lunar variables and the weather.
In the 1940’s, Donald bradley developed the Bradley Siderograph as a tool to forecast the financial markets (stocks, bonds, commodities). He assigned numerical values to certain geocentric and heliocentric planetary influence for e each da, and the sum is the geocentric or heliocentric Bradley Siderograph or Bradley Index. This index does no necessarily always predict the direction of the market, but does often indicate the timing of turning points within a few day time window.
Though he did not have formal scientific credentials, his specialized astronomical and statistical knowledge and great passion for the scientific exploration of astrology make him a valuable contributor to the development of the field. His contributions to the financial forecasting and to weather research led him to affiliations with the scientific community. He eventually moved to Tucson, AZ to take up the position of the Senior Editor at the American Astrology, written under the name of Garth Allen. He died of cancer on April 25, 1974, at the early age of 58.
